What is an introvert?
- You love spending time alone
- All your best ideas come to you when you are alone
- You don’t care much for small talk
As an introvert I find spending too much time socializing just exhausting. Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, family and everyone I surround myself with.
But in small doses please.
Spending time with myself in the peace and quiet is one of my favorite things to do.
Technically I’m an “advocate”. As an advocate I am quiet but not an idle dreamer. I will take steps to make my dreams happen.
If you want to find out more about your personality type I definitely recommend taking the 16personalities test. You will learn a lot of scarily accurate information about yourself.
Onto the important stuff. Here’s what cures my boredom and helps me to relax as an introvert.
A good book
If you’re stuck for ideas on what to read I’ve created an Autumn bookshelf to help you find some good stuff!
Even as a British person I never realised how many different types of tea there are. I even found a pink lemonade tea the other day!
Blogging is one of my favorite things to get completely lost in. Finding new posts and writing keeps your mind active whilst allowing you to be completely creative.
I love to play games such as stardew valley.. which I suppose online is technically with other people but it tends to be pretty chilled out and sometimes you don’t talk to people at all!
If you’re not into video games then netflix and youtube is your best friend.
Plants and Flowers
Watering plants and keeping them alive and growing is incredibly rewarding. I love my chilli plant and little cactus the most!
I even try talking to them sometimes… Apparently it helps them grow.
Whether you’re a fully seasoned artist or just a stick figure doodler, grabbing a sketchbook and practicing or getting your thoughts onto a piece of paper or graphics tablet can really help you grow.
If you’re not much of a drawer, there’s always journals and notes. I keep a “grateful” journal where I write everything I’m thankful for.
We all need a nice corner with a chair or a big old blanket to snuggle under. Especially in the colder months.
